We have a brand spankin’ new blog… So update your bookmarks!

I may be somewhat partial… But I think these are the cutest beach boys ever…  OK, so one is my son and the other is my husband, but they are pretty cute in my book.

Big Boys like to fish all by themselves so no one scares away the fish!  And wouldn’t you know while I was in the house, a big crab grabbed ahold of his little plastic fish and he reeled him in!  Daddy didn’t have the camera, so we missed the big catch!

This guy went way far out to find some big ones…

We have finally returned from our travels after several flights and several states we’re happy to be back home.  During a drive from Alabama to Panama City Beach, we drove through the town of Eufaula.  They have a massive lake that runs under the bridges that take you through the town.  We noticed that there really weren’t many boaters out there.  We did see one fisherman, but that was it.  After we passed by the largest parts of the lake, we stopped to get some gas and saw this sign…

We thought maybe it was a joke, but nope…

There they were……. 3 -4 big gators… Just hanging out by the gas station parking lot.  I guess now we know why there weren’t any swimmers and skiers in the lake!

My husband thinks it was staged, but I asked another guy in the parking lot and he said they were definitely wild gators in Lake Eufaula!  No swimming for me!

A loss

Photographer Julie Steiskal lost her life in a tragic accident on Wednesday trying to save a teenager on a waterfall in Minnesota.  She was part of a large community of photographers who will greatly miss her and are saddend by the loss.  Peace to her and her family and that of the the young woman that she was trying to save.

For all those parents out there watching their little leaguers… Don’t forget to take pictures.  Life flys by so fast you’ll want to remember those days when they were young!

We’re getting a brand SPANKIN’ new blog…  A nice fancy one with bigger images and lots of fabulous upgrades.  Check back in the next few weeks for the link!

SOOC is an acronym for Straight Out Of the Camera. Meaning the images that come directly from the camera.  I like to call these raw, unedited images.  Something that we do to make our images extra special is to give them some extra love…

For instance…  When you order a print from us, before we send the digital file off to the color lab to be professionally printed, we give the eyes some nice sparkle and the colors some pop and add a little magic, and Voila….  We can’t give away our secrets… But here’s an example of an already gorgeous couple. (Both images are cropped to show the most detail in the blog space available)

And then the same image edited with some extra love…

Just showing you all the love that goes into our prints!

xoxo

Thank you to the fablous Rachael Earl for taking some great images of me today.  I must admit I am totally not good in front of the camera… But she was able to make do with a not so great subject!  Thanks Rachael.. YOU ROCK!  She did good huh….

She even got my shootsac… My new fav lens bag!

And here’s the ever adorable Rachael Earl…

The more I photograph the more I realize that those posed images just aren’t my favorite.  My favorite are those that just happen.  Those you capture and the the bride may not even realize that you caught that small moment.   Don’t get me wrong, I still love creating those fun moments, that I happen to suggest, but those that are spontaneous and real are my favorite!  Kind of like this one… when your BFF makes sure your lipstick is just perfect!

This was one of the funnest families I have worked with in awhile, this is the Rush family from all over the US, except for Grandma & Grandpa, they live here.  When I arrived their little shitzu was soo excited to see me, but he couldn’t join us for pictures cause I guess he likes to pee on feet.  Glad I missed that fun!  Here’s a few from today!

Oh- and I LOVE families that match.  I almost fit right in except for my pink pants, I must have missed the memo!

And these little guys look innocent, but after a day at the Grossology Display at the Science Center… Well you can just imagine! ;)

Thanks Guys! Have a great visit!
